The Franciscan Garden (Františkánská zahrada) is accessible by two passages. From Wenceslas Square, there is the Alfa passage, which is named after the famous Alfa Cinema, which was built in 1929 and had a capacity of 1,100 seats. The fascinating fact about this passage is that it is paved with natural stones with different hardness. That’s why they are unevenly worn down, so when you walk on them, you can feel like you’re walking on water.
The passage from Vodičkova Street is called Světozor – it`s also named after the cinema. And right next to the entrance to the Světozor Cinema is the sweet shop Ovocný Světozor (Fruity Světozor). With many cakes, open-faced sandwiches, and ice cream…

By the way – the Czech project Kinoautomat had a worldwide success at the world exhibition EXPO `67 in Montreal. After returning from EXPO`67, Kinoautomat was screened in Prague at the Světozor Cinema.
